Republic West, Inc.'s development of the PROtec Glass Window System used in their replacement windows fulfills consumer expectations in the current market to receive cutting edge product at affordable prices. The PROtec Glass System offers the maximum in long term energy savings as well as optimum light transmission.
Linda Zimmerman says, "The PROtec Glass System fulfills one of our missions here at Republic West: to offer our customers cutting edge technology at affordable prices."
The PROtec System:
The PROtec System features:
1. 4 types of energy efficient glass; each designed to accommodate different heat, sun and weather conditions.
2. Start to finish window replacement: analyzing, design and manufacturing of your window system with one of four unique, high efficiency glass systems.
3. High efficiency plus affordable price.
4. Custom combinations offer residents the best balance of both heat protection and light transmission.
No single glass system can battle the variety of challenges thrown at the windows of a home: direct sunlight, reflected heat, varying levels of shade, diverse exposures, etc. The PROtec System has the options needed to accommodate all the challenges efficiently.
Federal Tax Credit Program and Energy Star Program Requirements:
Republic West's PROtec Systems far exceed the requirements presented by both the Federal Tax Credit Program and the Energy Star Program. As indicated:
PROtec 2364 U Value 0.23 R Value 4.3 SHGC 0.27 Visible Light 64%
PROtec 1257 U Value 0.12 R Value 8.3 SHGC 0.24 Visible Light 57%
PROtec 1150 U Value 0.11 R Value 9.1 SHGC 0.24 Visible Light 50%
PROtec 1045 U Value 0.10 R Value 10 SHGC 0.23 Visible Light 45%
U= measures how much heat is transferred through a window. A lower U-factor means less heat flow and better insulating value
R= measures the resistance to heat flow or how well a material resists heat transfer. This value measures overall insulating value. The higher the R-value the better the insulating performance
SHGC= Solar heat gain coefficient, a critical component in cooling dominated climates such as Phoenix. This value measure how well a window blocks heat from sunlight. The lower the number, the less solar heat it transmits
Visible light= measure how much visible light transmits through a window. The higher the percentage, the more light is transmitted.
Note: all test results based on 1" overall glass thickness
