República Grows, Enhances Communications Division Announcing Key Promotions

República, a multidisciplinary advertising, digital and communications company, today announced the promotions of Florencia Contesse as senior account manager and Jose Cano as account manager in its Communications division.

Contesse, who has been promoted from account manager to senior account manager, has extensive experience in reputation management for corporate and consumer clients in the general market, U.S. Hispanic and Latin America. She specializes in corporate, technology, consumer and entertainment communications. Her current client roster includes Nielsen, Univision Communications and Bupa Latin America. Prior to joining República in 2010, Contesse was a senior account executive at Edelman Public Relations in Miami. She holds a B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Florida International University.

Cano, who has been promoted from associate account manager to account manager, has a portfolio that includes a wide range of clients in the television, hospitality/tourism, technology, retail and entertainment industries. He currently manages accounts and projects for Google, Miami Dolphins and Atlantico Rum, among others. Prior to joining República in 2010, Cano worked at Cheryl Andrews Marketing Communications and rbb Public Relations. Cano received his B.S. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Florida International University.

In addition to these two promotions, República’s Communications division also hired Diana Delgado as account coordinator. Prior to joining República, she was involved in the political arena in a number of federal, state and local campaigns. Currently, her clients include the Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility (HACR), Univision Communications and Nielsen. She specializes in media relations, event planning, speech writing, and grassroots advocacy. She is a graduate of the University of Florida, where she obtained a B.A. in Spanish.

Most recently, República was recognized by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) as a finalist for two Silver Anvil Awards for its successful campaigns for Baptist Health and Versailles Restaurant. Winners of the Silver Anvil Awards, the public relations profession’s most prestigious honor, will be announced at a ceremony on June 7 in New York City.
