In addition to offering home delivery of over 250 cosmetics and personal care products that are guaranteed pure, Repurify.com dedicates a portion of profits to groups focusing on safe products and public health. With each purchase, the shopper designates which one of the causes they want their purchase to support. Those funds will go to promote open and transparent regulatory oversight of cosmetics, scientific research on the potential links between product ingredients and health risks, and research and development of pure products.
The site makes it simple for shoppers to buy pure, safe cosmetics, personal care and baby care products to reduce their families’ exposure to potentially toxic ingredients and process by-products.
Repurify.com carries only items that are certified pure based on third-party analysis by the EWG—Environmental Working Group—a non-profit team of researchers and consumer advocates. The EWG has designed—and continues to expand—an accessible database that provides objective safety ratings for over 52,000 products covering over 8,800 ingredients and process by-products. On a mission to make the world a purer place, Repurify’s co-founders wanted a better way to find pure products for themselves and their families. When they saw the size of the problem, they took up the challenge.
“We’ve united a lot of people who are interested in getting suspect chemicals out of their lives. They just aren’t sure where to begin or who they can really trust. We can point them to the information and options they’ve been looking for,” says co-founder Hunter Thurman.
