The Enfocus Requirements Suite™ by Enfocus Solutions Inc. is a robust, interactive requirements tool available next month that empowers stakeholders to input their user needs directly into the software, and lets IT developers translate those needs into actionable, traceable business requirements.

The result of this stakeholder participation and transparency is more accurate, thorough requirements and more successful projects, completed on time and on budget with greatly improved stakeholder satisfaction.

Available April 16, 2012, the software service comes complete with an extensive variety of supporting resources, including requirements samples, templates, user persona examples, and self-help training materials that provide a foundation for project managers, business analysts, and CIOs to quickly document system requirements.

Enfocus Solutions Inc. President and CEO John Parker says the combination of direct stakeholder input and industry best practices is what sets the Enfocus Requirements Suite™ apart from other requirements management tools on the market.

“Over half of all major IT projects fail or are abandoned because project leaders do not know or have access to all business requirements, or the requirements keep changing or are inaccurate. At the end, stakeholders are often left unsatisfied because they feel their needs haven’t been met,” says Parker.

The Enfocus Requirements Suite™ provides businesses a tool to better address their end users’ needs, manage requirements, and learn from and compare their requirements with those of other organizations, he adds.

Designed by IT and business consultants, the software has four key components:

  •     Requirements Excellence Framework™ – a how-to guide of requirements examples and practice guides
  •     RequirementPro™ – the interactive requirements tool compatible with Mac and PC platforms
  •     RequirementCoach™ – sample requirements, benchmarking reports, and requirements training
  •     StakeholderPortal™ – the unique interface where stakeholders enter their needs and user stories and have transparency into requirements throughout the development and implementation lifecycle

Working together, the components provide a framework, tool, and knowledgebase of a business’s rules, processes, and user requirements that can be shared across the organization. In addition, developers can tag and bundle requirements by keywords so they can better group, prioritize, and manage requirements based on urgency, cost, or need.

“It eliminates the problem of not having enough information, or of prioritizing and acting on the wrong information,” says Parker.

The Enfocus Requirements Suite™ can be used in both waterfall and agile requirements environments, and uses standardized language set forth by the APQC, the Business Analysts Body of Knowledge (BABOK), and the Business Process Management Body of Knowledge (BPM CBOK). The suite is available in two pricing structures, with the Enterprise license providing access to videos by requirements expert Karl Wiegers, as well as eight hours of telephone consulting from Enfocus Solutions Inc.
