Charleston, SC (PRWEB) February 27, 2008
The 8th Annual Kiawah Island Art and House Tour will take place on Friday, April 11 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm. The tour will feature five exceptional homes with awe-inspiring views of the ocean, salt marsh, ponds, creeks, and lagoons. The private homes also serve as showcases for spectacular private art collections, with architectural settings designed to display paintings, pottery, sculpture and other art forms. Kiawah Island is the home of the famed Ocean Course, designed by Pete Dye, one of the most influential course architects in the world. The golf course hosted last year's Senior PGA Championship and has been selected as the upcoming host of the PGA Championship to be held in August of 2012.
Tickets for the Kiawah Island Art and House Tour are $55 and include admission to the Gibbes Museum of Art, Charleston's only visual arts museum. Located in Charleston's Historic District, the museum showcases the visual culture of Charleston, the Lowcountry and the American South from the colonial era through today. Tickets for the tour may be purchased in advance from several locations. Those taking the tour are required to wear flat-heeled shoes and no photography will be permitted on the tour.
