The Cookoff will top-off the week-long Ullr Fest celebration, a Breckenridge tradition for over 20 years. ResortQuest Breckenridge will be offering an exclusive Chilly Chili Lodging package.

ResortQuest Breckenridge is proud to host the first annual Chilly Chili Cookoff, to be held at the ResortQuest Main Street Station event plaza on Thursday, January 10. The Cookoff is a benefit for the newly formed Breckenridge Mountain Rotary, a local division of Rotary International.

ResortQuest Breckenridge will be offering an exclusive Chilly Chili Lodging package, which includes 10% off lodging plus 2 sets of tasting tickets and 2 sets of Hot Chilly long underwear. Ullr Fest pays homage to the Norse god of snow, Ullr, and has become a hallmark event of this world-class ski resort. Festivities begin January 6 with the Ullr skating party at the Stephen C. West ice arena and continues through January 11 with events such as the Ullympics, the Ullr dating game, the crowning of the Ullr King and Queen and the infamous Ullr Fest parade down Main Street Breckenridge.

The Chilly Chili Cookoff will commence immediately following the Ullr Fest parade from 4 - 7 pm on January 10. The Cookoff will feature over 25 entries in two divisions: Restaurant and Open. Cost for tastings is $10 for unlimited tastings. Participants will be judged on five key features of their chili, including the aroma, consistency, color, aftertaste and overall flavor. Local celebrity judges include: professional chef Thomas Salamunovich of the Larkspur in Vail, two-time world record holder in speed skiing, CJ Mueller, Roger Mecca of RSN Television, JJ Thomas, professional snowboarder and Olympic bronze medalist, Lee Zimmerman, President of the Summit Foundation, Jen Assor formerly of NRC Broadcasting and DJ DC with KSMT The Mountain 102.1 and 102.7 FM. The Cookoff will also feature live music on the Main Street Station stage from 4 - 7pm.

Grand prize includes $500 cash, courtesy of Alpine Bank and a 5 night stay at any Hyatt Vacation Club worldwide, courtesy of the Hyatt Main Street Station.
