Located at the corner of South First Street and East San Fernando Street, Nemea is bringing the flavors of Mediterranean culinary freshness into the buzzing heart of downtown San Jose. Nemea is located inside the former E&O Trading Company. After remodeling the interior, Nemea opened with much fanfare on March 6, 2013.
The restaurant features an extensive menu of classic Greek food choices including Pikilia, Horiatiki Salad & Paidakia to name just a few of their rustic Mediterranean dishes. There is a full bar with a list of hand-crafted house cocktails and a wine list which features many of Greece’s amazing, mostly undiscovered wines, as well as domestic and European selections.
Owners, the Tsigaris Family, say, "We believe that every dish we serve presents a new opportunity and a new challenge for perfection."
Nemea’s culinary mission is finding the best the world has to offer: The best produce, the best wines, the best spices, the best honey, the best yogurt, and above all, the best meat, fish and seafood diners can find.
Nemea works with food and beverage suppliers that meet an uncompromising standard of quality and excellence. When ingredients are of such outstanding quality, there’s no need to hide them behind sauces and powerful spices. Nemea prides itself on the purity of dishes that bring out each ingredient's distinct flavor and nutritional value. Paired with the restaurant’s warm and inviting ambiance and staff’s undivided, courteous attention, they are striving to make sure customers’ dining experience will be memorable and satisfying.
Nemea is open seven days a week for dinner. Mondays through Fridays, lunch is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There is also happy hour, which runs Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Call Nemea for reservations at (408) 279-4225, or make reservations by visiting their website at http://www.nemeagreektaverna.com.
