DRL chief executive, John Roberts explained, “The aim of the project, known as CORE, was to build a sales processing system that was efficient and easy to use, and a customer service system that would allow our agents to give customers the best resolution as quickly and smoothly as possible.”

The shortlist totals 60 companies across 12 categories. Other big name retailers up for an award include: ASOS, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, New Look, Ocado, The Co-operative Group, Mothercare, Argos, Net-a-Porter and newcomer to the UK white goods sector, global electronic retailer Best Buy.
