Avisena, Inc., a revenue cycle management (RCM) company servicing the health care industry that offers a proprietary, Internet-based technology platform, announced strong second quarter results driven by a growing demand in healthcare practice management solutions. Avisena cites consistent sales productivity, technology enhancements as well as operational improvements as the reason for the companies continued financial success.

Operating profit was up 148 percent compared to the same quarter in 2008. Avisena continues to thrive in the midst of a struggling US (Global) economy and is well on track to deliver an eighth consecutive year of steady financial growth.

"Even in these economically difficult times, Avisena is continually hiring and creating opportunities in the communities we do business; we also are increasing shareholder value by steady growth and projected increases in revenue," said Mike Maseda, Avisena President and CEO. "Avisena has experienced a 20 percent growth in year-to-date claims revenue from '08 to '09. These metrics can be attributed to our continued innovation, relentless focus on client service, and superior client collection results," explained Maseda.

According to the Medical Group Management Association 73 percent of practices are dealing with operating costs that are rising more rapidly than revenue. Traditionally run medical practices are being squeezed by increasing cost pressure coupled with declining payer reimbursement resulting in significant reduction in profits. In order to combat these on-going trends, practices are turning to Avisena's Software Enabled Service (SES) model for more efficient and cost effective solutions to reduce expenses and increase revenues.

"Physicians are asking how they can save money and do more with decreasing revenue," said Maseda. "Avisena is uniquely positioned to help our customers save money by offering advanced technologies that will help physicians streamline the payer reimbursement process. It is commonplace for Avisena clients to experience 10% to 20% revenue growth while simultaneously reducing their expenses to their bottom-line."

In addition to notable increase in profits, Q2 presented Avisena with national recognition for its economic consistency and growth in recent years. Accolades include ranking as the 1,018 fastest-growing company in Inc 500/5000 2009 list as well as local recognition as the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's "Good to Great Business in the 51-249 employee category" and the South Florida Business Journal "Business of the Year."
