A recent online survey conducted by RealSelf.com found that nearly 70% of their online visitors would be interested in cosmetic enhancement if cost was not a consideration. Dr. John Hilinski, a board-certified plastic surgeon, is doing his part to educate this growing population of Americans interested in plastic surgery, specifically as it relates to his specialization in facial plastic surgery. The University of California in San Diego School of Medicine recently hosted a plastic surgery symposium that covered a broad spectrum of surgical cosmetic enhancement procedures, including a lecture from Dr. Hilinski’s perspective, which focused on rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty.
The audience was comprised of staff from the UCSD Division of Plastic Surgery, as well as some of the most respected plastic surgeons in San Diego and Los Angeles. Dr. Hilinski gave a lecture that focused on his expertise and personal approach to the nuances associated with managing the rhinoplasty and secondary rhinoplasty patient population. Dr. Hilinski says one area in which audience members expressed a particular interest in was his post-operative management of cosmetic nose surgery. He added that rehabilitation after a rhinoplasty procedure is a complicated process, and requires an extensive amount of experience to ensure each patient’s goals and expectations are met.
Dr. Hilinski says he enjoys participating in lectures and other plastic surgery events such as conferences and continuing education courses. He adds that he believes maintaining a public presence provides validity to his reputation as an expert in rhinoplasty in San Diego, and helps the general population better understand the reasoning behind pursuing cosmetic enhancement.
