A lawyer finds himself in the midst of danger as his aim to solve a mystery backfired. Somehow, he became the object of his own investigations. Before everything gets out of hand, he must dig into the matter and bring the truth to light. Author Rhys Archer pens a mystery novel that will keep the readers at the edge of their seats with his new publication, A Golden Thread.
It is a story of greed. A young lawyer in a public housing authority, David Agnew, tries to solve a mystery. A major public works project is underway, and there is corruption involved. In the course of his usual attention to task amid the awarding of contracts, the dealing with various complaints, he discovers an anomaly. It appears a leak has developed. Funds otherwise unaccounted are slipping away. Tentative, groping and uncertain, he explores the issue further. He finds that more and more obstacles have subtly been placed in his way.
The last of these, as he persists, are not so subtle. The implication that he is somehow responsible for the loss of the funds and the attempt to kill him seems to add weight that the investigation he has done backfired. He has, in short, become the object of his own investigation or some other’s. Injured and alienated, he must find the way – with the help of a few unlikely allies – to exonerate himself. Will he be able to put the blame where it truly belongs?
Fast-paced and exciting, A Golden Thread will give the readers the thrill of solving the puzzle and put the blame where it belongs. With vigorous, lively and sympathetic characters, this book will surely deliver them into an unexpected conclusion that will satisfy their thirst for mystery and suspense.
