Richport Properties finished 2008 and entered 2009 on a high note, receiving eight awards in recognition of their successes in the past year. The eight awards included the Atlanta Regional Commission's Exceptional Merit Award for Neighborhood Infill and Sustainable Site and Infrastructure Design at their Development of Excellence awards, a 2-10 Home Warranty Company Platinum Award, five Greater Atlanta Home Builder's Association OBIE Awards, the Certified Professional Home Builder (CPHB) Customer Satisfaction Award and the GuildMaster Award. Richport Properties builds townhome and single family home communities in Jackson, Newton, Gwinnett and DeKalb counties.

“The last quarter in 2008 is now known as the worst quarter for homebuilding in over 50 years and we are thrilled to have come through that time with eight new awards recognizing our hard work and commitment to excellence at Richport Properties,” said Rick Porter, Owner of Richport Properties. “I think our success is a message to the entire industry that even though we are in a downturn, we will not only survive this but succeed in the process.”

The 2-10 Home Warranty Company Platinum Award was given to Richport Properties for their 20 years of active participation with the company with no outstanding customer issues. In November, Richport received five OBIE Awards at the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s annual awards program recognizing the best in the industry. Those awards included three Gold Awards for design at their Brookline, Davis Oaks and New Rockbridge communities, and two Silver Awards for Davis Oaks. The most distinguished award also came in November when Richport’s Davis Oaks community was awarded one of only four Development of Excellence awards from the Atlanta Regional Commission and the Livable Communities Coalition for Neighborhood Infill and Sustainable Site and Infrastructure Design. Finally, Richport Properties received recognition for their customer satisfaction, winning the CPHB Customer Satisfaction Award and the Guild Quality’s Guildmaster Award for achieving a 100 percent recommendation rating from their home buyers in 2008.
