It’s obvious the UK rental system is failing not only young adults and students, but growing numbers of families too
(PRWEB) January 24, 2013
Property investment specialist, Rick Otton, believes that when it comes to housing, UK residents are in a catch-22 situation. They can’t afford to buy their own homes, but renting isn’t working either. And a report just published by The Telegraph confirms this view, stating that 8.5 million people now rent, with the numbers soaring.
The report says that home ownership is beyond reach for increasing numbers of Britons with ‘the average house costing over five times the average wage’.
Mr Otton believes that the harsh realities faced by many people in the UK is driven home by the one statistic quoted in the article: “A 21-year-old starting work on an normal income today who manages to save five per cent of her salary, year after year, can expect to have the keys to her own front door – by the time she’s 52.”
In announcing his 2013 UK property investment conference, Otton, an internationally renowned property investment strategist, coach and mentor, says the current generation of young adults doesn’t have to settle for a lifetime of renting in the deteriorating UK rental market.
Alternative investment solutions
“The average renter in England has to endure various challenges, from absurdly high rents and poor property conditions to rent hikes and sudden evictions,” Mr Otton said.
“There are some real horror stories for renters out there. It’s obvious the UK rental system is failing not only young adults and students, but growing numbers of families too. Many people just accept their precarious housing situation, but they should know there are alternatives.”
Since 2008, Rick Otton has been known in the UK as the creator of ‘Houses for a Pound’. He is an advocate for non-conventional real estate investment strategies which veer away from negative gearing and traditional banking finance to grow portfolios.
His innovative real estate investment strategies show investors how to generate positive cash flow from day one even without a deposit, stamp duty, bank loan or real estate experience. His ‘no-money-down’ approach and passive income deals have been used successfully by students from different parts of the world.
“I am on a personal mission to transform the way people buy and sell properties,” Mr Otton said. “My strategies and techniques might sound revolutionary – and they are – because they require re-setting the way we think about property investment, but they work.”
Mr Otton is hosting a three-day ‘Zero-Debt Property Cashflow’ Conference 2013 from 19-21 April to deliver alternatives to desperate UK residents. It is the second year the conference is being held, with last year’s event completely selling out. Details are at RickOtton.co.uk.
