Akron, OH (PRWeb UK) March 16, 2010
Risk International, a growing risk management company with expertise in complex risk related services, management of hazard risk, and outsourcing has formally entered the European market through the formation of a team based in the United Kingdom. RI President and CEO, Michael D. Davis commented, “We have many clients with significant holdings in the EU. Our new UK group will provide them with quick access to our services. They will also establish the foundation for an expanded presence through all of Europe.”
This move puts RI in an excellent position to respond to the EU’s growing demand for the management of complex hazard risk. “Today, well managed corporate risk is essential for an organization to remain successful.” Davis explains, “Within the EU, the demand for measurable improvements in how risk is managed has never been stronger. Our team consistently and sustainably reduces the total cost of risk for our clients, while helping them significantly improve their management of risk related activities.”
With the expansion RI adds two new risk management practitioners with European experience. Davis comments, “We are very pleased that Clifford Perkins and Nicholas Gardener have joined our team. Both are very talented professionals who possess strong technical credentials and in-depth experience with managing down the total cost of risk.”
Clifford Perkins joins RI with considerable experience in international financial management including risk management, treasury, taxation, and supply chain. Clifford is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and a Member of the Association of Corporate Treasurers. He made significant contributions while at PricewaterhouseCoopers, JP Morgan, Marks & Spencer PLC, The Rank Group PLC as the Director of Tax, Treasury and Insurance and as head of Tax and Insurance for Procter & Gamble’s UK operations. He is also extensively experienced in broker and underwriting negotiations, claims negotiations, and in risk analysis related to supply chain and the dynamics of financial interdependence.
Nick Gardener, a professional engineer, has a track record of making significant corporate improvement in health, safety and environmental performance, risk management, loss prevention and business continuity planning. As Group Risk and HSE Manager at Elementis plc, formerly Harrisons & Crosfield, Nick covered operations in the UK, US, Europe, Malaysia, China and Taiwan. Prior to Elementis, he worked for the UK Atomic Energy Authority, Michelin Tyre and GKN. He is a regular presenter on risk management and safety to industry professionals.
“Expanding RI’s influence in the UK and European markets is well timed.” Said Perkins, “Organizations throughout Europe are seeking to optimize their risk management capabilities and improve their total cost of risk as never before.” Gardener believes the opportunity to “improve the management of complex business risk at every level within an organization” is significant. “Complementing and extending RI’s skilled experience with two seasoned EU professionals positions the firm for significant growth throughout Europe.”
