It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers as a ‘doctor’s doctor
McAllen, Texas (PRWEB) November 17, 2011
Texas Monthly released the 2011-12 Super Doctors™ list today recognizing Dr. Esteban Brown for professional achievement and peer recognition in his subspecialty of reproductive endocrinology. Only about 5 percent of Texas doctors earn this designation.
A reproductive endocrinologist (RE) is a board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist that completes an additional three years of specialized fellowship training. REs treat infertility in men and women with the latest advances in assisted reproductive technology.
To compile the Super Doctors™ list, independent researchers ask doctors nationwide to recommend their peers by posing this question: "If you needed medical care, which doctor would you choose?"
“It’s an honor to be recognized by my peers as a ‘doctor’s doctor,’” says Dr. Brown. “I have a high regard for my colleagues, and a great deal of compassion for anyone dealing with the stress and uncertainty of infertility. This disease impacts one in eight couples so it knows no professional boundaries. In my opinion, any man or woman facing infertility deserves a Super Patient designation.”
Key Professionals Media, Inc. polls over 40,000 physicians to compile a list of the initial nominees. A special panel of researchers then evaluates the candidates based on peer recognition, professional status and disciplinary history. A “blue ribbon” panel, comprised of nominees in each medical specialty, winnows down the candidates to arrive at the final list of Super Doctors™.
In addition to peer nominations, the Super Doctors™ selection committee also evaluates years of experience; hospital appointments; fellowships; professional activities; leadership positions; academic achievements and positions; board certifications; publications; lectures and presentations; and honors and awards.
