Robert O’Block, Founder of ACFEI, Disseminates iPredator & Information Age Educational Information to Conference Participants

Robert O’Block, founder of the American College of Forensic Examiners International, disseminates forensic psychologist’s iPredator technological predator warning signs checklist to forensic conference attendants. As the largest forensic sciences professional organization in the world, Dr. O’Block and ACFEI are introducing information to members relevant to Information Age forensic sciences.

Hudson Valley, NY (PRWEB) October 18, 2012

New York State licensed psychologist and certified forensic consultant, Dr. Michael Nuccitelli, is the author of new technological predator constructs he has termed, iPredator & iPredator Bridge. His constructs explore the dynamics of people who engage in criminal, deviant, nefarious and malevolent activities using Information and Communications Technology (ICT). Robert O’Block, CEO & founder of the American College of Forensic Examiners International (ACFEI) is disseminating Dr. Nuccitelli’s technological predator warning signs checklist to participants at their yearly forensic conference. As the largest forensic sciences professional education organization in the world, Dr. O’Block and ACFEI are introducing information to members relevant to Information Age forensic sciences.

Technological predators and their victims are new dynamics causing devastation across all elements of society. Dr. Nuccitelli states, “It might sound trivial that ACFEI & Dr. O’Block are handing out tech. predator educational information at their yearly conference. But to me, it is the first step towards one day initiating a nationally sustained educational and awareness project focused on internet safety & cyber criminal awareness.”

Dr. Nuccitelli’s theoretical constructs, iPredator and iPredator Bridge, were used to compile his tech. predator warning signs checklist that he also offers to freely download at iPredator Inc.’s website. A brief definition of each is as follows:

iPredator: A child, adult or group who, directly or indirectly, engages in exploitation, victimization, stalking, theft or disparagement of others using Information and Communications Technology (ICT.) iPredators are driven by deviant fantasies, desires for power and control, retribution, religious fanaticism, political reprisal, psychiatric illness, perceptual distortions, peer acceptance or personal and financial gain. iPredators can be any age, either gender and not bound by economic status, race or national heritage. Whether the offender is a cyberbully, cyberstalker, cyber harasser, cyber-criminal, online sexual predator, internet troll or cyber terrorist, they fall within the scope of iPredator.

iPredator Bridge: iPredator Bridge is a theoretical tenet of iPredator representing the psychological, perceptual & behavioral trajectory of people who use Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to harm others. Similar to the iPredator, they are motivated by personal convictions, greed, power, control, narcissism or psychopathology. Different from the iPredator, they have yet to fully engage in criminal/deviant activities using ICT or use complex perceptual distortions to validate the harm they cause. iPredator Bridge investigates why some people draw near to this nefarious and malevolent realm and either proceed in their maladaptive trajectory or cease and desist.

iPredator Bridge Warning Signs Checklist (IBWSC): Based on the iPredator Bridge construct, the iPredator Bridge Warning Signs Checklist (IBWSC) is a 50 item checklist designed to investigate if a loved one, colleague or peer is participating in or close to participating in harmful online and/or ICT activities towards others. Multiple affirmative responses to IBWSC statements suggests the person being queried exhibits patterned and/or observable behavioral patterns indicating they may be engaged in iPredator activities. Furthermore, the IBWSC assumes there are both people engaged in nefarious and malevolent activities and those engaged in harming others driven by distorted beliefs they are doing so for righteous and/or morally supported reasons. The common thread identical in both segments is the victims they target suffer from their attacks.

Dr. Nuccitelli is honored to have Dr. Robert O’Block and ACFEI support his mission to bring to light the widespread growth of nefarious, criminal and malevolent activities in cyberspace. In support of National Anti-Bullying and Cyber Security Awareness Month, Dr. Nuccitelli has made available to freely download iPredator, iPredator Bridge and his iPredator Bridge Warning Signs Checklist (IBWSC) at iPredator’s Tech. Predator Website.
