“Our downtown merchants and the City of Poulsbo have been working diligently to ensure plenty of parking availability as we improve our downtown parking lot. Poulsbo is definitely open for business.” Poulsbo Mayor, Becky Erickson.

The City of Poulsbo and the downtown merchants are getting ready for the first phase of the Anderson Parkway Project to begin. This 50 day long project will include repaving of the parkway, installing bio-cells, Filterra Units, and associated storm water drainage structures. The project also includes the addition of two new parking spaces and new lighting.

On January 22nd, the City intends to issue the Notice to Proceed allowing the contractor to mobilize and begin staging for the project. During the project, no less than 50% of the parking area will be available for use with the exception of approximately 7 days of full closure for final grading and paving. The final grading and paving is planned for the last week of February, weather depending, and is scheduled to be completed by March 1st. The completion date of the overall project is April 1st.

The RockFish Group, in conjunction with the City of Poulsbo, has identified 3 alternative free parking areas and will be installing identifying signs at all three locations: The King Olaf parking lot, the underground parking at City Hall, and the old Police Station. Additionally, The Rockfish Group has produced a map of the downtown area along with a legend that will be inserted into the Kitsap Sun for distribution and will also available at downtown stores and City Hall to help increase awareness of all the alternative parking areas in downtown Poulsbo. This includes existing on street parking along with the alternative lots mentioned above.

Regular updates will be made available by The Rockfish Group at https://twitter.com/downtownpoulsbo and on Historic Downtown Poulsbo's website.
