Newton-based NICKERSON PR is raising money for Greater Boston youth by fielding a team of cyclists to ride 50 miles in the Rodman Ride for Kids on Sept. 26 in Foxborough, Mass. Team NICKERSON will represent Housing Families Inc., an affiliated agency for the Ride. To learn more about participating or donating to the cause, readers may follow the team's progress at the Team Nickerson Facebook page and @TeamNickerson on Twitter. The team will continue to accept donations until the race and is dedicated to reaching its fundraising goal of $20,000. NICKERSON took a big step in that direction in August, as it raised $5,000 in a benefit event at The Greatest Bar Boston.

The Rodman Ride for Kids is an umbrella matching gift charity that raises funds for youth-focused social service agencies in Massachusetts. The Ride and its affiliated agencies raise funds year-round, culminating with The Ride event, a 25-, 50- and 100-mile non-competitive cycling tour, each fall. The expenses associated with the Ride for Kids are less than 4 percent of the total revenue, and are all underwritten. All proceeds go directly to help families and at-risk children.

Since its inception in 1991, the Rodman Ride for Kids has raised more than $37 million to help at-risk children in Massachusetts. To register for the Rodman Ride, please visit To support Team NICKERSON in the Ride, donate here:
