Robinson will be participating in a panel discussion titled “Connecting Your Business with the Fortune 500” along with representatives from Hewlett Packard, Time Warner and UPS as part of the Small Business Matters One-Day Entrepreneurship Summit on July 28. Robinson will be discussing how small, minority-owned businesses can better promote their services to, and successfully bid on contracts with, large corporate purchasing departments.
A procurement expert and supplier diversity consultant to major corporations, Robinson developed and launched ConnXus.com in 2010, creating an online marketplace that matches small, woman- and minority-owned companies with corporate buyers in more than 100 product or service categories.
The Small Business Matters Entrepreneurship Summit will feature interactive workshops, resources and networking opportunities to help small business owners either launch or take a current business to the next level. Sponsored by Pitney Bowes and Wells Fargo Bank, NA, the Summit is part of the National Urban League’s 2012 Conference which is being held July 25-28 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans. President Barack Obama will be delivering the conference’s opening address on July 25.
ConnXus has partnered with the National Urban League on a strategic initiative to grow minority businesses, hosting special events with the National Urban League’s 10 Entrepreneurship Centers during the next 8 months. The Cincinnati Connect and Grow! event will take place on July 17 at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

ConnXus.com is an online service that revolutionizes supplier diversity by making it easy and affordable for corporations to locate, evaluate and engage performance-rated small, minority- or woman-owned businesses. It’s a virtual marketplace that matches buyers with diverse suppliers in more than 100 product or service categories. Buyers can conduct searches for suppliers or post contract opportunities for suppliers to submit bids. Suppliers request performance ratings from prior customers, and just like many consumer-focused websites, more and better ratings translate into better search results. ConnXus also provides turnkey solutions for corporate procurement organizations: supplier diversity program assessment, design and implementation; comprehensive diverse supplier validation, classification and reporting; training; supplier outreach and qualification; and custom bid preparation. ConnXus also offers branded customized supplier diversity portals for corporations, chambers of commerce and other associations.
