Gloria is a woman of great faith and many dreams. Her life has been full of pain and sadness from her early years in Puerto Rico when she loses her loving father at five years of age. Providence guides her to an orphanage where she finds love and a family. She grows into a humble woman full of ambitions, but is derailed as she meets the love of her life, an alcoholic.

From her early years, when at five years of age, Gloria loses her beloved father, to the travails she suffers in her adolescent years, and the sacrifices she made for her children. Her decision to leave her life of pain and strife behind only brings more suffering and pain as she comes to the United States in the early 1950s with her three young children.

In spite of the many obstacles she has to face, Gloria attempts to make a better life for her family. However, her new life turns into a nightmare of more abuse and turmoil as she battles life with an alcoholic who brings with him a string of new and corrupt behavior. Will she still be able to make her dreams of a better life a reality?

Rosalina Mesias is a retired hairstylist, was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico and came to the United States of America in 1954 as a child. She resides in Texas and is the mother of three children, grandmother of five, and great-grandmother of three.
