The Florham Park Surgery Center has made medical history by becoming the first surgery center in the tri-state area to offer and perform the advanced incisionless ROSE (Restorative Obesity Surgery, Endolumenal) surgery to reverse weight regain after gastric bypass surgery. Currently, only approximately 30 facilities in the entire United States have the privilege to offer this treatment.

There is a solution for bariatric surgery patients who falter in their weight loss goals. Even the most successful bypass patients occasionally regain the weight they have lost from their initial surgery. One cause of weight regain after bypass surgery is due to a gradual enlargement of the surgically altered small stomach pouch. New safe surgical technology now allows surgeons to treat this potential source of weight regain. The ROSE procedure provides an incisionless surgical option to restore gastric bypass patients' anatomy to closely match original post-surgery sizes.

Before the ROSE procedure, patients who regained weight after gastric bypass surgery had few treatment options. Scarring from the initial procedure made revision surgery challenging, with longer recovery time and an increased risk for complications.

The ROSE (Restorative Obesity Surgery, Endolumenal) procedure is an important new option for patients who have started to regain weight after gastric bypass surgery as a result of stretching of the stomach. Using new surgical tools, surgeons create and suture folds into the pouch to reduce its volume and at the stoma to reduce its diameter. The surgeon performs the procedure entirely through the mouth without making any external incisions into the body.

Due to the lack of external incisions, the ROSE procedure is expected to provide important advantages, including, less risk than traditional open or laparoscopic surgery, minimal postoperative pain, fast recovery time and no scarring.

Keeping the weight down after gastric bypass is vital for health improvement and reduction in the co-morbidities associated with obesity such as Type II diabetes, heart disease, joint disease and respiratory conditions.

If you or someone you know have started to regain weight since your initial surgery, attend a "My Program For Life" Free Rose Procedure Educational Seminar.
