If young people or, as a matter of fact, anyone venture into sex before marriage, they will have to pay a price. It is a common misconception that if a young woman discovers she is pregnant, she thinks by marrying, the situation will be corrected. The reality of it all is not so. Two wrongs will never make it right; she or he may end up going through many stormy encounters. Conception of a child should only come about within the bonds of marriage out of love.

Surviving Stormy Encounters shares the story of author Rosethel Bowe Mcphee, a young woman who got pregnant and leaped into marriage prematurely without counsel. She had numerous warnings on many occasions, and also the inner voice warned her on the day of the wedding not to go ahead with the wedding. She did not listen to anyone, and for this reason, she believed she was made to go through all of these.

This book teaches everyone about marriage which is something that should not be taken lightly or easily jump into but something each one should consider seriously before entering this lifetime commitment. Hasty marriages due to circumstances like pregnancy, often results in stormy encounters and this is what the author had realized for herself. But despite her tumultuous experiences, she was able to weather these stormy encounters in her life and emerged triumphant because of God and her supportive family and friends.

Surviving Stormy Encounters will be featured at the 2013 New York State Reading Association Book Exhibit in Albany, NY, on October 27-30, 2013.
