Lawyers in Australia filed a class action suit in that country’s federal court on behalf of women claiming they were injured by vaginal mesh implants, the Australian ABC News website reports. They filed the suit against the products’ manufacturer, Johnson & Johnson, and “believe it could be the largest product class action in Australian legal history,” according to the web site.
The suit’s lead plaintiff is Julie Davis, a woman in her 40s who, according to abc.net.au, alleges Johnson & Johnson’s vaginal mesh products left her so injured that she has been forced to use a to use a mobility scooter.
The Rottenstein Law Group files individual lawsuits—not class actions—on behalf of women alleging they suffered injuries as a result of vaginal mesh implants manufactured and sold by several companies, including Johnson & Johnson. The firm pursues this course of action on behalf of its clients because, in the United States, individual lawsuits are often more likely than class actions to help victims recover monetary awards that are proportionate to their injuries.
As a law firm representing women in vaginal mesh lawsuits, the Rottenstein Law Group will closely follow the Australian litigation over alleged vaginal mesh injuries.
The Rottenstein Law Group’s Vaginal Mesh Lawsuit Information Center at http://www.rotlaw.com/transvaginal-placement-of-surgical-mesh/ describes all of the issues vaginal mesh patients face and explains their options. (Attorney advertising. Prior results do not guarantee a similar outcome.)
