Healthy Spot Round Up for Rescues

"We are ecstatic that all this change has added up- exceeding $100,000! The little change here and there has made a big difference in the local animal welfare community” co-owner Andrew Kim shared.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 17, 2014

Healthy Spot, a Southern California pet retailer, is not only known for providing the healthiest food options and quality products for four-legged companions. They give you the opportunity to pamper your pup by offering daycare and grooming services at their doggie spas. Most importantly, Healthy Spot has made a positive impact on local animal welfare through a variety of programs they have created. “Round Up For Rescues” tops the list with raising over $100,000 for various groups and organizations committed to help animals in need or raising awareness to animal welfare issues.

Healthy Spot now services pet owners with three locations in the Los Angeles area, one in Costa Mesa and one on the way in Long Beach. When a purchase is made at any of Healthy Spot’s Southern California locations, one of their helpful staff may ask if you would like to “round up” the change to an even dollar amount for charity. Co-owners Andrew Kim and Mark Boonnak, implemented this concept to their business practices upon opening their first location in 2008.

“We started the round up program because we felt that Healthy Spot could serve as an instrument to the community. We are ecstatic that all this “change” has added up- exceeding $100,000! The little change here and there has made a big difference in the local animal welfare community” co-owner Andrew Kim shared. “We are grateful that all our loyal customers have supported this program and thank them for rounding up.”

Many organizations have benefited from the “change” that Healthy Spot has collected from rounding up. Highlighting groups like The Bill Foundation, LA Love and Leashes, Forte Animal Rescue, Labs and Friends, NKLA, Best Friends, Animal Advocates Alliance, Wags and Walks, The Rescue Train, and Operation Blankets of Love.

Healthy Spot is a mainstay in the Southern California dog community, spearheading educational as well as philanthropic initiatives to create awareness of and fundraise for charitable, not-for-profit humane and rescue organizations. Healthy Spot’s philanthropic programs extend beyond “Round Up for Rescues” and include a full calendar of local and regional events benefitting multiple animal rescue and adoption organizations.
