We realized an immediate benefit with InfraDesk in the sense that we now have a full-featured service management application that is easy for us to use, does not require any consulting and was extremely cost effective
Bedford, MA (Vocus) October 28, 2010
InteQ, a leading provider of On Demand IT Service Management, today announced that Qatar Steel, a leading steel company in the Middle East region, has selected InfraDesk as their IT Service Management solution.
Recognized as a foremost leader in the Middle Eastern steel industry, Qatar Steel provides IT support to over 1,600 end users. InfraDesk provides the company with a 100% web-based application that ensures easy extendibility to users and provides costs benefits. The total cost of ownership for InfraDesk was significantly less than competing solutions. In addition, because the application is easily configured, Qatar Steel does not need to rely on external consultants for ongoing changes. InteQ provided a Service Level Agreement to the company to ensure up-time performance and availability guarantees which made the transition from on-premise to SaaS very smooth. During the evaluation period, InteQ enabled the Qatar Steel IT and QA teams to perform a real-time evaluation by providing a custom InfraDesk sandbox environment that contained their workflows and data. During the evaluation, these teams were able to successfully use the system as if it were live in their environment and get a true depiction of how it would work on a day to day basis. Workflows were easily created and modified without consulting and the overall ease of use was apparent from day one.
“We realized an immediate benefit with InfraDesk in the sense that we now have a full-featured service management application that is easy for us to use, does not require any consulting and was extremely cost effective,” said Malek Hamdieh, CIO, Qatar Steel.
Prior to InfraDesk, Qatar Steel was using an on-premise solution for service management. The solution required significant investments in external consultants and internal resources to maintain and administrator. In addition, ongoing changes required additional external consulting which disabled their ability to make changes and extend to the user community instantaneously.
“With our former solution, it was extremely difficult, if not impossible at times, to make modifications to the application without external consultants which implied additional costs,” added Malek Hamdieh. “Now with InfraDesk, my team can easily modify and configure the application internally which saves us time and money.”
"Qatar Steel was burdened with the high costs associated with upgrading and maintaining their on-premise service desk solution and needed a cost-effective, modern IT service management solution. Not an uncommon grievance we hear from other customers," said Santhana Krishnan, Chairman and CEO, InteQ. "Delivered as a software-as-a-service delivery model, InfraDesk enables them to eliminate previously devoted budgets and resources without sacrificing the functionality they require."
