Muskegon, Michigan (PRWEB) October 11, 2008 -- Safecutters, Inc., widely recognized as the go to company for SAFE cutting tools, announces the launch of its new website - www.safecutters.com. The online store features a variety of utility/box cutters and package opening knives and related accessories

"There is an increasing need for safe cutting tools," commented Tom Fri, Safecutters' President. "We put a lot of effort into our updated website design and structure. Our goal is to allow our customers to effortlessly locate and purchase our products online."

Indeed, in any given year, according to the US Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), nearly five million workers will experience injury or illness on the job, and more than half these injuries will be severe enough to send the worker home. Of these injuries, a third of them will be in the form of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs), according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Such disorders are painful for workers and costly for employers, both in lost productivity and in workers' compensation claims. For workers who handle heavy packages on a regular basis, these injuries are both especially inconvenient and especially hard to avoid.

While industries such as manufacturing, retail, food, shipping and receiving account for the majority of Safecutters' sales, demand is also increasing for personal use. This heightened demand may be related to "wrap rage" -- a term apparently first used in print in a 2003 item in London's Daily Telegraph for that peculiar combination of irrational frustration brought on by today's hard-to-remove product packaging. No matter the reason, safety knives are moving from the stockroom to the living room. Gardeners, shoppers, handymen and handywomen, eBayers, and others are more inclined these days to stock a box cutter in the toolbox, workshop, kitchen, or home office.

Along with the top selling Klever Kutter -- a box cutter approved by the Department of Homeland Security for safe air transport, the new website features a variety of other cutting products and accessories.

"Orders started coming within moments of the new site being launched," said Tom Fri, Safecutters President. "We encourage customers to check back with our website frequently to stay up to date with our ever changing product line. At Safecutters, we believe in making utility, cutting and packaging knives as safe and useful as possible."

Safecutters Inc. provides an online store of utility knife box cutters for opening shipping boxes and shipping packages, as well as safety knives to open moving boxes and packages.
