Safer® Brand recently awarded non-profit organization Florida Urban Homesteading with a $5,000 donation for winning the Safer® Brand Grant Some Green Facebook contest.
Safer® Brand believes in all things organic, not only for personal health, but for the well-being of the world. The purpose of the Grant Some Green Contest was to recognize, honor and thank incredible organizations who are putting their time and resources into building a healthier, safer and more sustainable planet.
The Grant Some Green contest ran from January 2016 through May 2016 and gave Safer® Brand Facebook fans the opportunity to nominate and vote for their favorite gardening-related 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
Organizations from all across the United States were nominated, including schools, churches, farms, community gardens and many other non-profit organizations. Thousands of votes were cast, as participants spread awareness about the contest and encouraged their family and friends to vote.
The organization that received the most votes was Florida Urban Homesteading, a non-profit that teaches and supports both rural and urban homesteaders in the state of Florida.
“Thank you…for giving us the opportunity to win this donation to help continue doing as much for the community as we can. We are a small nonprofit with big ideas and bigger dreams,” said Patrick Tessier, President of Florida Urban Homesteading.
In addition to the $5,000 grand prize, Safer® Brand also provided all non-winning organizations with a large discount on SaferBrand.com as a token of appreciation for their hard work and dedication to organic gardening.
