Leading seafood, meat and poultry importer and distributor, Ruskim Seafoods Ltd, selects Sage ERP X3 from Datel. The ERP software solution will build efficiencies and streamline processes.

Ruskim Seafoods Ltd, one of the leading importers and distributors of fish, meat and poultry in Europe, has selected Sage ERP X3 as its unified business system. Ruskim is adopting the solution, that was introduced to the UK market in October 2009, with leading Sage Business Partner Datel.

Andrew Russell, Financial Director at Ruskim Seafoods says the decision was taken after looking at a number of industry specific solutions, “Sage ERP X3 contains impressive functionality within a single, up-to-the-minute system that will be easy to deploy and cost effective across our 5 sites. Datel’s commitment to the Food and Drink industry was evident when we met with them. They understand the industry and how we can get the most out of an ERP solution”

As the majority of Ruskim’s sales are taken through telephone orders, telesales functionality is essential to the new system. Sage ERP X3 will address this key requirement for the business and bring their telesales function a significant reduction in process time.

Another area where Ruskim expects to see strong returns is within the stock and inventory control function. With no real-time visibility of their stock levels currently, Sage ERP X3 will ensure they have an up to date picture across their 5 sites, giving them better ability to plan and respond to customer demand.

Alongside telesales and inventory management, Ruskim’s solution includes a suite of finance modules, sales order processing, purchase order processing, and container management. Sage ERP X3 combines these elements with work flow management to give a real time, comprehensive view of the business.

Award winning system support offered by Datel was what most impressed the Ruskim team, Andrew explains, “Following a visit to their head office in Warrington we were confident that Datel would be able to deliver a quick response on Sage support which is necessary for our business. A commitment to service is very obvious through the setup of their support desk and the team they have in place.”

Ruskim Seafoods is adopting the solution across all its sites and as they have little IT expertise in house they are planning to make use of Datel’s infrastructure arm, Datel Advansys, to provide hosting services, 24/7 system monitoring and a managed back up service provided through a Technology as a Service (TaaS) offering.

Guy Paton, Technical Director and head of the Sage ERP X3 team at Datel, explains how Sage ERP X3 will assist Ruskim, “Since Sage introduced Sage ERP X3 into the UK last year we have been very excited about the scope of the solution. Ruskim Seafoods will benefit from the ease of customisation and an intuitive ERP system that will work with their processes to build efficiency. Unlike other ERP solutions on offer, Sage ERP X3 is easy to deploy and very scalable to any business.”
