Tradewinds Sailing School has sold out of its two most popular sailing adventures

Since Tradewinds' training focus is on cruising, we offer our members the opportunity to experience cruising with other members and experienced skippers

Richmond, CA (PRWEB) June 09, 2012

Featuring premier sailing lessons and sailboat rentals and charters throughout Sacramento and the Bay Area, Tradewinds Sailing School and Club has already sold out of availability for two of its three upcoming group sailing adventures to the San Juan Islands and Grenada.

“Since Tradewinds' training focus is on cruising, we offer our members the opportunity to experience cruising with other members and experienced skippers,” Matt Kepner of Tradewinds Sailing School and Club said. “Each year, we pick locations that are popular old favorites or ones that are new to all of us.”

The sailing adventures are always highly anticipated events, and places for the San Juan Islands Adventure scheduled for this June 15 to June 22 have long been sold out, with three boats joining the journey. The trip to Grenada, which will take place from Oct. 3 to Oct. 13, also sold out with 11 boats participating.

“Grenada, the Spice Island, way down at latitude 12, is home to beautiful beaches, spice plantations, rum distilleries and colorful coral gardens. Relatively undiscovered, the new charter base here has been open for less than a year,” Kepner said.

Those who missed the opportunity will still have one more chance to join a sailing adventure, as the sailing school is currently finalizing details for a La Paz and the Sea of Cortez trip for July 2013.

“Going on a group cruise gives you the chance to learn the ins and outs of chartering a boat, experience a week or more of living onboard, including provisioning, cooking and boat care, as well as practically applying your navigation skills and making new friends,” Kepner said.

In the past, Tradewinds Sailing School has arranged trips to France, Turkey, Spain, Greece, St. Martin, Tahiti and Thailand. The adventures also include trips along the Pacific West Coast.

Those who have their own group and are qualified as skippers can also charter their own boats and join the club flotilla. This allows for more flexibility on the size of boat and crew, as well as selecting one’s own provisioning package and other options.
