To reflect the evolving landscape of downtown Salt Lake City, the hotel will be known as the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek officially on February 15.

The Salt Lake City Marriott Downtown Hotel will be changing names. To reflect the evolving landscape of downtown Salt Lake City, the hotel will be known as the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek officially on February 15.

The name change comes after six years of development completely revitalized and changed the downtown Salt Lake City area. The new City Creek Center consists of shopping, dining and residential units across 20 acres. Due to its proximity to the City Creek Center, the Marriott Salt Lake City Hotel felt it appropriate to undergo a change of its own and be known under its new name.

This Marriott Salt Lake City, Utah hotel has been a fixture in the downtown district for 30 years, bringing in business and economic growth as the city flourished. Entering its fourth decade, the Salt Lake Marriott Downtown at City Creek Hotel hopes to continue being a fixture in the downtown district. Being so close to the brand new downtown district, it only made sense to evolve along with the city.

The City Creek Center is part of the “Downtown Rising” Project, fueled by the efforts of Property Reserve, Inc. and Taubman Centers, Inc. The movement aims to revitalize the beautiful four-block area that constitutes as the core of Salt Lake City.
