I have personally inspected over 10,000 hospitals, medical offices and dental offices, and Dr. Sam Muslin's dental office is consistently the cleanest and safest office that I have ever seen.
Santa Monica, CA (PRWEB) June 18, 2013
Dr. Sam Muslin has been practicing cutting-edge, reconstructive and cosmetic dentistry in Santa Monica for more than 30 years. Although infection in a dental care setting is rare, Dr. Muslin fears that patients may intentionally refrain from seeking the dental care they need because of the gravity of the exposure to unsanitary conditions in the recently reported Tulsa Oklahoma case. “It is troubling to me that an isolated incident, such as the one in Tulsa, casts a dark shadow across the entire dental industry.”
“Media coverage neglects to state that most dentists are not compromising the health of their patients and are responsible and reliable health care providers,” says Dr. Sam Muslin. “I have 45 high-speed hand pieces for safe patient care. Every instrument is sterilized with a working autoclave, and tested regularly in according to the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) guidelines. We thoroughly and systematically apply every one of the CDC’s infection control requirements, as well as the OSHA guidelines for the State of California.”
In what seems like some horrific, bizarre movie plot; a Tulsa, Oklahoma dentist may have exposed nearly 7,000 patients over the course of six years to HIV and hepatitis. An official complaint filed with the Oklahoma state dental board describes numerous violations including “multiple sterilization issues, multiple cross-contamination issues, (and) access to an unlocked and unattended drug cabinet." Other violations include expired drugs, uncertified dental assistants, unsterilized dental tools and unlicensed employees administrating intravenous sedation to patients.
The CDC guidelines maintained by Dr. Muslin include the proper cleaning and sterilization of all non-disposable items, especially dental tools between patients, complete disinfection of all surfaces and all dental personnel must wear protective garments like gloves, masks and eye protection. He also has private rooms with power glass doors, purified air and lead lined walls!
Laurance Levinne, CEO of California Medical Compliance Company, who inspects and trains dentists, doctors and hospitals on the OSHA guidelines has recently stated, ”I have personally inspected over 10,000 hospitals, medical offices and dental offices, and Dr. Sam Muslin's dental office is consistently the cleanest and safest office that I have ever seen."
