Video is still the best way, even over any photo, to relive your wedding day, capturing sounds and emotions that still photography can often pass over
Burlington, MA (PRWEB) December 31, 2012
Oh what an ever-changing world we live in, but for some people, it couldn’t change fast enough. Now that same-sex couples can marry (finally!) in at least a few states, and have become equals in legality and status to heterosexual marriages, we can now say ‘Congrats!’ but also admit that whether someone is bi, straight, or gay, they will have a wedding to plan with the same pressures to have that perfect day for them and their guests. That means deciding what to wear, where to celebrate, what kind of cake, and everything in between. However, there’s only one way to remember the place settings, impressive dance moves, the sound of the speeches, and the first glances between lovers and that’s to document the whole wedding day on video.
“Video is still the best way, even over any photo, to relive your wedding day, capturing sounds and emotions that still photography can often pass over,” said Ben McElroy, owner and videographer for McElroy Weddings. “The laws have changed in New England, but our company has always been supportive of all forms of marriage. We will provide the best service for all clients and any clients regardless of who they are.”
Unfortunately, many of the same-sex couples McElroy Weddings has talked to still are hesitant for their wedding day to be anything but a completely private affair. There’s still a stigma, there’s still opposition, there are still closed-minded people in our nation, but it shouldn’t be a deterrence. Videographers can keep your footage completely confidential if you so choose, but regardless of your preferences, a marriage between any couple should be one that focuses on the love and commitment between them, not whether or not the community at-large will approve.
“I have filmed hundreds of weddings and hundreds of couples from every race and culture,” Ben explained. “But whenever we talked to a same-sex couple, there was a hesitation to even have guests take photos.”
At last, two men finally approached McElroy Weddings this fall to cover their wedding. Perhaps a sign that not only are same-sex marriages slowly being accepted, but also that the suppressive veil of secrecy is being lifted.
“McElroy Weddings is proud to support every couple that approaches us for their video needs and are committed to providing the same great service.”
