On Wednesday, December 10, Sam's Club helped to make the holidays a little bit brighter for 10 local families with a $100,000 donation of food and gifts in Atlanta, Buffalo, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, Miami and Phoenix this season, as part of its third annual 2009 "Dream Drive" program.

Off the Field Players Wives Association teams up with Sam's Club and the Salvation Army to bring $100,000 worth of gifts and food to families in need this holiday season

For the third year, Sam's Club, the Salvation Army and Off the Field Players Wives Association have reached out to families in need via Sam's Club annual Dream Drive event.

During the course of the drive, the Salvation Army identifies 100 families (10 local families in 10 cities) that are in need who receive gifts selected from the shelves of Sam's Club by football players' wives. The participants from Off the Field Players Wives Association work with Sam's Club to select a wide range of holiday gifts, including clothes, food, personal items and toys, in an effort to brighten the holiday season for those families.

These families are part of the Salvation Army's Adopt-A-Family program, which allows families, businesses and corporations to help out families in need during the holidays. Sam's Club has adopted 10 families from the Salvation Army in each of the 10 cities hosting the Sam's Club Dream Drive.

During the shopping spree event, volunteers from Off the Field (an association made up of wives of professional football players) hit the aisles of Sam's Club to fill baskets with clothes, household products and toys to brighten the season for the local families. Each family also received a $200 gift card for a holiday meal and other food.
