San Diego, California (PRWEB) June 27, 2012

The San Diego bankruptcy attorneys at the Golden State Law Group, a law firm that provides help for consumers and businesses who are struggling financially, hereby announces that the firm is providing a free initial consultation for consumers who may be in need of bankruptcy protection and who have not filed because of the potential costs and hurdles involved with doing so.

Specifically, the San Diego bankruptcy lawyers at the firm are making this offer of a free initial consultation because recently, a paper was published on the Web site of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York that stated that based on the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005, millions of people who would otherwise have filed for bankruptcy protection did not do so because of the difficulties presented by this law. The paper was written by Donald P. Morgan, and it was entitled, "Is the 2005 Bankruptcy Reform Working?" It was released on June 4, 2012.

Specifically, the Federal Reserve Bank paper analyzed the statistics regarding the number of bankruptcy cases filed between the years of 2009 and 2011 and projected the number of bankruptcy cases that would have been filed during that timeframe but for the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act that was passed in 2005. The paper concluded that while more than 4.3 million bankruptcy cases were filed between 2009 and 2011, more than 25 million bankruptcy cases would have been filed without the new law in 2005.

The San Diego bankruptcy attorneys at the Golden State Law Group encourage anyone who may be struggling with their finances but who have not obtained necessary protection from the bankruptcy court because of concerns regarding costs and delays to have their financial situations reviewed by an experienced professional. This consultation can help consumers who are struggling define a pathway to recovery from those serious financial problems and can lead to the possibility that filing for bankruptcy protection or some other strategy can be employed to bring about an end to these struggles.
