The Gray Whales are Back in San Diego’s Coastal Waters

Baleen gray whales have been spotted on their annual migration from the Bering Sea to the Baja California lagoons and Flagship Cruises & Events has once again partnered with the Birch Aquarium Naturalists to get you up close and personal.

San Diego Gray Whale Watching with Flagship
Witness the longest mammal migration in the world, when approximately 20,000 gray whales pass San Diego on their annual 10,000-mile round-trip journey from the Bering Sea to Baja California.

While San Diego locals and visitors to San Diego can enjoy year-round leisurely cruises around the San Diego Bay, the world’s longest migration of gray whales only happens December through April. These magnificent mammals begin their yearly migration in early October and have been spotted in San Diego’s coastal waters a little earlier than usual this year.

One of the longest and most impressive annual migrations of any animal, these Eastern Pacific gray whales average 45 feet long and weigh approximately 66,000 pounds. They are easily spotted by their dorsal knuckles instead of fins and medium gray with whale patches.

Flagship Cruises & Events encourages you to enjoy a fun and educational whale watching cruise to catch a glimpse of the annual migration and learn more about these wonderful creatures. Half-day cruises depart 2x daily and for those crunched for time, the high speed Patriot Jet Boat will get you there and back in half the time. Be sure to bring a sweater or jacket, camera and binoculars for a memorable whale watching experience.

Use promo code PRWW10 to get 10% off for up to six adult fares on either the 3.5 hour or Patriot Jet Boat whale watching excursions.
