The only way the 49er ticket prices for the big games will come down is if they lose too many games early in the season” according to Greg Cullen at Preferred Seating Tickets. “And if they beat the Packers in the first game, prices are sure to go up.
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) July 19, 2012
The San Francisco 49ers started out slow during the 2011 season; however, as their winning streak grew, so did the demand for tickets grow, and so did the price of those tickets. People who waited to buy their tickets close to game day ended up paying a dramatically higher price for tickets versus people who bought their tickets early. The San Francisco 49ers ended their season as NFC West Champions; they defeated the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Divisional Playoffs, but lost the NFC Championship to the New York Giants (who ended up winning Super Bowl XLVI). 49er fans across the country kept saying “they were this close!”
The 49ers haven’t been in the playoffs since 2002. Ticket sales have slowly decreased over the years. After an 8-8 record in 2010 fans didn’t expect the breakout season 49ers had in 2011 and therefore didn’t invest in buying tickets in a timely manner. By the end of the 2011 season, the availability for 49ers tickets was slim to none. Lesson learned, fans are saying now.
According to ticket brokers, now is the time to buy 2012 San Francisco 49er tickets. The big games this year will be against the New York Giants: the game for redemption on October 14, and against the Chicago Bears on November 19: the rival game where local 49er fans face a huge number of local Bear fans. Preseason game tickets are at low prices right now, while regular season game ticket prices are starting out higher than the 2011 season prices. Fans can get preseason tickets as low as $15 as opposed to $40 for regular season tickets.
“The only way for 49er ticket prices to come down for the big games this year is if the team loses too many games early in the season,” Greg Cullen of Preferred Seating Tickets says. “If the Niners beat the Green Bay Packers in the first game of the season, ticket prices will go up.”
There is another factor to consider, Cullen reminds 49er fans. There is a new stadium being built in Santa Clara, replacing the historic Candlestick Park. By the time the new stadium doors open, ticket prices for 49er games will easily triple what they are today, especially with a Builders License Fee and the ongoing regular season ticket price increase. While fans might think 2012 49er ticket prices seem high right now, in a few years they will most likely be facing exponentially high ticket pricing, and they will most likely look back and wish they had invested in 2012 season tickets while they had the chance.
