Grateful Dog T-Shirt Sales to Benefit San Francisco Giants Community Fund

The Grateful Dog is helping fans of dogs and the San Francisco Giants get their paws on their popular new t-shirts, while putting baseball gear into the hands of kids who would not otherwise be able to play ball.

Grateful Dog’s tees support the Giants Community Fund, which teaches baseball to at-risk youth.

You can’t get anymore San Franciscan than showing your love of the Giants and your pet while helping kids in underserved neighborhoods get into baseball instead of what they are exposed to daily

The Grateful Dog Doggy PlayCare and Wellness Center, the premier San Francisco dog daycare center, is helping people bring their love of dogs and their hometown baseball team closer to the heart with their innovative new t-shirt design that states: I (paw) SF in orange Giants-style lettering. A portion of the proceeds from t-shirt sales supports the Giants Community Fund, which builds self esteem and strengthens at-risk kids’ sense of community, while providing a healthy alternative to drugs, gangs and crime.

“You can’t get anymore San Franciscan than showing your love of the Giants and your pet while helping kids in underserved neighborhoods get into baseball instead of what they are exposed to daily,” said Karla Rivera, founder of the Grateful Dog. “Response has been great—I think we’re barking up the right tree.”

For 17 years, the Giants Community Fund, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, has delivered the Junior Giants program to underserved communities throughout California, Nevada and Oregon. In 2011 alone, the organization will improve the lives of over 17,000 boys and girls, most of whom would not have the opportunity to play baseball if not for the Junior Giants.

The fun t-shirts designed by the San Francisco doggy daycare cost $30—a true bargain, considering the price includes handling and shipping to anywhere in the United States. The Grateful Dog t-shirts are printed with environmentally safe ink on AnvilSustainable Tees. These shirts are made from 50% combed ring-spun organic cotton in conversion and 50% post-consumer P.E.T. recycled polyester.

“That’s something else to feel good about,” said Rivera.
