Roots Restaurant in the Orchard Garden Hotel at 466 Bush Street at Grant Avenue near Union Square in San Francisco is now serving express lunches starting at $10 every Fridays.

The Friday Express Lunch menu is designed to satisfy the stomach without emptying the wallet. Dine-in or take out is available. Express Lunches start at $10 and are available from 11:30am to 2pm on Fridays only.

The menu changes weekly. The menu for November 12, 2010 includes:

Farmers Market Soup & Salad - Roasted Butternut Squash and a Crisp Mixed Green Salad with Seasonal Accompaniments - $10

Grilled Chicken Sandwich - Grilled Organic Chicken Breast on a House Baked Bun, Roasted Garlic Aioli,
Vine Ripened Tomatoes, Wild Arugula and House Made Potato Chips - $12

Boeuf Bourguignon - N.Y. Strip Beef Stew, Red Wine Sauce, Button Mushrooms, Fingerling Potatoes,
Pearl Onions - $14

Iced tea, lemonade or choice of juice or soda is just $2, and diners can add a glass of house wine for only $5.

Roots Restaurant is a small, stylish San Francisco restaurant located in the Orchard Garden Hotel, perfect for a leisurely breakfast, pre-theater appetizers or romantic dinner. Roots proudly serves contemporary American cuisine with a French flair and is committed to featuring local produce, naturally raised meats and sustainable seafood whenever possible. The cozy bar is a great spot for cocktails. Breakfast is served from 6 to 10am weekdays and 7 to 11am on weekends and holidays; the bar is open from 3:30pm daily; and dinner service begins at 5:30pm daily.
