Horse racing season kicks into high gear on May 7 with the running of the first leg of the Triple Crown, the Kentucky Derby. Park Hyatt Aviara Resort near San Diego is excited to announce that they have partnered with the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club for an exclusive summer racetrack package that combines a luxurious resort getaway along the Pacific Ocean with never-before-available access to the historic racetrack’s private Turf Club.

As the 2011 Preferred Hotel of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club, the Southern California resort is the first and only resort to offer guests such elite access. The legendary Turf Club, made famous by classic Hollywood stars like Bing Crosby and Ava Gardner and now frequented by today’s celebrities such as Gwen Stefani and Owen Wilson, is a private club open only to members and their guests – admission is not available to the general public.

With the Del Mar Races Turf Club Package, guests of Park Hyatt Aviara Resort will be treated to world-class service and old Hollywood glamour with a day at the races. Available from July 21, 2011 through September 7, 2011, the package includes:

Package price starts at $345 per night. Bookings are subject to availability and a two-night minimum stay is required. Turf Club passes are not valid for Opening Day (July 20, 2011). Turf Club table service is first-come, first-serve and is not guaranteed on weekends.

Located “where the turf meets the surf,” Del Mar has been entertaining racing enthusiasts since opening in 1937. To this day, the Del Mar racing season remains a top celebrity pastime and one of Southern California’s most beloved summer social events. Park Hyatt Aviara Resort is ideally located just 12 miles away from the action, near the beautiful and secluded Batiquitos Lagoon overlooking the Pacific.

“The Turf Club at Del Mar is one of the region’s most historically elite clubs,” said Craig Fravel, Del Mar Thoroughbred Club President and General Manager. “Access to the Turf Club has, until now, been nearly unattainable by non-members. But we are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for many of our racing fans to experience this exclusive space as never before.”
