Third Annual San Francisco Dream House Raffle Awards 400 Prizes Including $2.8 Million Home

The San Francisco Dream House Raffle is a major fundraiser for Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. The organization sets a limit on the number of tickets sold in order to improve the odds of winning a cash prize. Tickets sell for $150 each. Chances of winning a prize of $300 or more are less than 1 in 100.

The 3rd Annual San Francisco Dream House Raffle in support of Yerba Buena Center for the Arts has just concluded. More than 400 cash prizes were awarded ranging from $300 cash and including $1.1 million to the Grand Prize winner.

“The 2011 San Francisco Dream House Raffle was another huge success,” said Charles Ward, YBCA’s Senior Director of External Affairs. “We greatly appreciate the support that this major fundraiser receives from so many people around the bay area. It is definitely a win-win proposition for everyone involved, our cash prize winners, our vendors and sponsors and most importantly YBCA. The success of this year’s raffle helps to insure that the organization will remain on sound financial footing throughout the coming fiscal year. For that we are greatly appreciative.”

The Grand Prize this year, $1.1 million was won by Cathy Smitsky of Fremont. There were six separate drawings, including drawings for early raffle ticket purchasers, multi-ticket purchasers, and purchasers who referred a friend. Other prizes awarded included: cash prizes ranging from $300 to $25,000, vacations to Hawaii and Europe, a Smart Car, and a Toyota Prius.
