Celebrating its first anniversary online, San Diego Travel Tips.com gives travel tips on how to explore San Diego this summer without breaking the bank.
San Diego Travel Tips.com, a free website, is owned and operated by two local San Diego women, Alexandra Hart and Julie Gelfat, who scout out, write about and photograph the unheralded treasures of San Diego that are often eclipsed by the well-known tourist attractions. In June 2008, the site celebrates its one year anniversary attracting visitors world-wide as well as San Diego residents.
The downturn in the U.S. economy and the soaring gas prices have crimped the leisure travel plans of many Americans who are choosing to stay home or dramatically reduce the costs of their summer travel plans.
San Diego Travel Tips.com appeals to the tourist, urban adventurer and the local San Diegan looking for a "staycation" or how to have fun in their own community. This free membership website has over 345 articles on where to go, what to do and what to see in San Diego, without spending a lot of money.
"San Diego Travel Tips.com started with the idea that visitors want the real deal when they are booking vacations. They want to know if their hotel is in a good location, how to maximize their visit, how to save money, and many want to know what else there is to do in San Diego besides the major and largely costly attractions.
People have simple questions and unless they use a travel agent, there is no human being on the ground who they can ask. San Diego Travel Tips.com isn't a travel agency, but rather an online resource for people to get fun and interesting tips on what to explore in San Diego and an opportunity to get specific answers to their questions. Bottomline, we want people to discover all San Diego has to offer and have a great time doing it," says Alexandra Hart, Co-Founder.
San Diego, California has long been a great destination for visitors and it is also a recreational playground for residents. In 2007, 31.6 million people visited San Diego. As summer 2008 approaches, millions of people are preparing their summer plans to visit San Diego. San Diego has seventy miles of beaches, four major attractions, and scores of inexpensive or free things to do. The summer season lasts through October providing many summer nights full of entertainment, including: outdoor movie screenings, free concerts, and nightly fireworks.
San Diego Travel Tips.com gives tourist information with a twist, sense of humor and from a local's perspective. As one member wrote, "I thought I knew everything about San Diego until I came across your site."
