On Friday night, November 16th, 2012, the San Francisco Bulls faced the Idaho Steelheads at the Cow Palace arena (former home of the San Jose Sharks). A recent article from the sports website, Inspirationalsportstories.com reported that The Bulls won the game in regulation with a score of 4-2. This ended an 11 game streak by the Steelheads of not losing a game during regulation.
The inspirationalsportsstories report added that the goals for the San Francisco Bulls came from four different players, spread across all three periods. The Steelheads' two goals were both scored during the second period. Marek Viednesky of the San Francisco Bulls scored the first goal of the game just seconds shy of eight minutes into the first period. After Friday's game, the Bulls' record when scoring first was 3-1. The Steelheads did not manage to score a goal during the first period, with several shots on net blocked by San Francisco Bulls goalie Thomas Heemskerk.
The Idaho Steelheads scored two goals in the second period and temporarily took the lead in scoring. Jeremie Blain of the Steelheads scored the first goal of the second period, assisted by teammates Kael Mouillierat and Justin Dawling. Steelheads forward David de Kastrozza scored the second goal of the period 22 seconds later, with an assist by Kael Mouillierat. The Steelheads lost the lead with 12 minutes and 37 seconds to go in the second period, with a tying goal by Bulls defenseman Sacha Guimond, assisted by Justin Bowers and Dean Quellet.
The third period began with the San Francisco Bulls and Idaho Steelheads tied at 2-2. Following a trip to the penalty box early in the third period, Alex Tuckerman of the Bulls scored a third point for the Bulls 5 minutes and 21 seconds into the period, with an assist by Kris Belan. This goal brought the Bulls back into the lead. The Bulls secured their lead with another third period goal by defenseman Scott Langdon. The San Francisco Bulls retained their two point lead over the Idaho Steelheads until the end of the third period, finishing the game with a final score of 4-2 and breaking the Steelheads' 11 game streak of not losing during regulation periods.
