Four attorneys from Anderson & Associates, P.C. recently participated in and presented at Illinois continuing legal education seminars.

Schaumburg family law firm Anderson & Associates, P.C. is pleased to announce that four of the firm’s attorneys have recently participated in and presented at Illinois continuing legal education seminars. The seminars are an opportunity for Illinois attorneys to continue to enhance their legal knowledge and professional development.

Principal Attorney and Founder Jonathan G. Anderson presented a continuing legal education course as a part of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association’s (NWSBA) Destination CLE program sponsored by the Law Practice Management Committee.

The legal educational program took place on January 17 at the Intercontinental Hotel and Resort in Austin, Texas. Anderson authored and presented the materials for the course entitled "Law Firm Office Space (An Overview from Site Analysis to Lease Negotiation)". Anderson currently serves as Chairperson of the NWSBA Law Practice Management Committee.

On February 10, Senior Attorney Dennise L. McCann participated in the DuPage County Bar Association’s Bankruptcy Committee roundtable meeting. The roundtable discussion focused on recent cases, new case law issues and resolutions for the practitioner. McCann is Vice Chair of the Bankruptcy Committee and contributed to the organization of the meeting.

Associate Attorney Rebecca L. Zeilenga presented at the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) seminar on March 13. The seminar was called “Starting Points: Divorce Boot Camp” and is an entry-level course which prepares attorneys to conduct the multiple steps of a divorce including how to handle complications and post-divorce issues which may arise. Zeilenga’s presentation entitled "Nuts and Bolts of a Judgment" explained the components of a marital settlement agreement and touched on drafting tips to make settlements more effective.

On March 25, 2015, Senior Attorney Christopher J. Maurer was a guest speaker at Foxmoor Continuing Education’s Nontraditional Family Law in Illinois seminar. The seminar focused on several important family law topics including: Same-Sex Marriage In and Outside of Illinois, Nontraditional Parenthood, Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements and Adoption in Nontraditional Families. Christopher Maurer’s presentation focused on Custody, Parenting and Support Issues for Blended Families.
