With global warming becoming more of a reality, the world is in trouble
GLADSTONE, N.J. (PRWEB) April 3, 2007
"With global warming becoming more of a reality, the world is in trouble," says Christy Moynihan, chair of the Green Gala. "As a parent and artist, sensitive to the state of the world, choosing a theme for our event this year was obvious. I hope anyone who considers contributing to this event, doesn't just look at it as an endeavor that supports a private school, but one that represents an opportunity to help the planet."
"I am proud of the progress that we have made," adds Michael Eanes, Head of the school. "Not only is The Willow School renowned for its innovations in the educational arena, but with the awards it has received for its "green" status, it serves as an important voice in the world. With the construction of a new building in process, we intend to apply the proceeds of the Green Gala directly to these costs."
The event will feature a live and silent auction, as well as an open bar and three course gourmet dinner. Among the items featured will include select outings at local, private golf courses, and a week-long stay in Maine on Somes Sound, the only fijord on the Atlantic coast of the United States. Other items include jewelry, gift certificates to various restaurants and more. Entertainment will be provided by the popular, Hunterdon County, Mama Luke rock & roll band. As part of the evening's events, there will also be a special IQ game in which guests will have the opportunity to test their knowledge of "sustainability" and other "green" related matters.
The event will take place on Friday, May 11 at the exclusive, Hamilton Farm Golf Club in Gladstone, New Jersey. It will begin at 7:00 P.M. Attire for the evening is eco-chic. For more information on donations or sponsorship, contact Christy Moynihan at (908) 448-7277.
