This summer, Imhotep Academy will offer two exciting science and mathematics programs for middle school students hosted by North Carolina State University Science House in Raleigh, NC. These programs include “Investigating Renewable Energy Applications” offered June 24th - 28th, and “Exploring the Everyday Applications of Algebra” offered July 8th -12th.
In June, students will build and test devices and compare renewable energy sources. In July, students will discover the everyday applications of algebra and apply the information into the design of a city. This is an awesome hands-on learning opportunity for middle school students and teachers alike. Students may apply for the summer program.
“We are proud to offer quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) programs that enrich and prepare young learners for higher education institutions, while instilling knowledge that maps directly to jobs for the future. There is nothing better in this world than seeing a student progress, achieving their full potential in following their dreams” – Pamela Gilchrist, Imhotep Academy Director.
Students of Imhotep Academy learn through discovery. Participating students learn how genetics can be used to solve mysteries in a DNA electrophoresis activity, build and test a remotely operated vehicles (ROV) to save endangered marine organisms, dissect a squid, and participate in a STEM career fair.
