ScienceLogic, a leading provider of IT Operations Management solutions, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the Niche Players quadrant of the Magic Quadrant for IT Event Correlation and Analysis (ECA).

"We are very pleased to be recognized on the Gartner 2009 Magic Quadrant for ECA," said David Link, president and CEO of ScienceLogic. "Our business momentum could not be better. Earlier this year, we were included in the Gartner Cool Vendors in IT Operations report, and we just launched a new addition to the EM7 product family, EM7 G3, which was awarded Best of Interop in the network management category."

For the purposes of this report, Gartner focused on the ECA features of EM7 G2, ScienceLogic's original product for IT Operations Management.

ScienceLogic solutions are designed to provide maximum value to customers; in the case of EM7 G2, the product combines the evaluated ECA functionality plus performance management, asset management and a full set of service desk tools - all pre-integrated and delivered as a rapid-deployment appliance solution. EM7 G2 was designed to replace traditional solutions that were too costly, too complex and took too long to deploy. At no time in recent history has this value proposition been more important to business.

"Our product differentiation is clear," said Link. "Instead of creating another point solution to add yet more complexity and cost to data center management, we offer the power and flexibility of a broad management framework solution, but in an entirely new way."

--EM7 provides a pre-integrated solution sharing a single data repository out-of-the-box instead of the traditional multiple modules or point solutions that often require costly protracted integrated.
--EM7 stands up immediately and takes days to fully deploy instead of the months or years of comparable solution suites.
--EM7 customers pay for overall monitoring capacity that can easily scale to support the growth and constant change of their businesses instead of the industry practice of being charged per node or interface that adds overhead and licensing complexity as operations and the business grow.

"We fully expect to further enhance our market position as customers begin to adopt EM7 G3, and as we continue to innovate in the many aspects of IT management, from ECA to performance management to service desk, that customers require to efficiently run their operations."

About the Magic Quadrant
The Magic Quadrant is copyrighted 2009 by Gartner, Inc. and is reused with permission. The Magic Quadrant is a graphical representation of a marketplace at and for a specific time period. It depicts Gartner's analysis of how certain vendors measure against criteria for that marketplace, as defined by Gartner. Gartner does not endorse any vendor, product or service depicted in the Magic Quadrant, and does not advise technology users to select only those vendors placed in the "Leaders" quadrant. The Magic Quadrant is intended solely as a research tool, and is not meant to be a specific guide to action. Gartner disclaims all warranties, express or implied, with respect to this research, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

About the Cool Vendors Selection Process
Gartner's listing does not constitute an exhaustive list of vendors in any given technology area, but rather is designed to highlight interesting, new and innovative vendors, products and services. Gartner disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, with respect to this research, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness of a particular purpose. Gartner defines a cool vendor as a company that offers technologies or solutions that are: Innovative, enable users to do things they couldn't do before; Impactful, have, or will have, business impact (not just technology for the sake of technology); Intriguing, have caught Gartner's interest or curiosity in approximately the past six months.
