High Tech Horror/Thriller Film to be Bundled with Video Game
Blood; A Butchers Tale, starring a Hollywood fresh face and up-and-comer Jennifer Sciole, went before cameras on March 17, utilizing the latest and greatest film technology, as principal photography began on the visually inventive, highly stylized, thriller-horror at the Pacific Gold Studios in Vancouver. The film will be the first in the Horror genre to have the look and feel of 300 and Sin City. The producers will also release a state-of-the-art pc video game simultaneously with the film. The game, Blood; Butchers Block will be cross marketed with the film.
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) April 3, 2007 -- Blood; A Butchers Tale, starring a Hollywood fresh face and up-and-comer Jennifer Sciole, went before cameras on March 17, utilizing the latest and greatest film technology, as principal photography began on the visually inventive, highly stylized, thriller-horror at the Pacific Gold Studios in Vancouver. The film will be the first in the Horror genre to have the look and feel of 300 and Sin City. The filmmakers are using the latest in CGI technology and the new Silicon Imaging SI-2K Digital Camera, which shoots at higher resolutions than HD, to blend stylized graphic and live-action elements seamlessly. The producers will also release a state-of-the-art pc video game simultaneously with the film. The game, Blood; Butchers Block will be cross marketed with the film.
Jennifer Sciole (Breaking the F-ing Rules, Ella at Five) stars in the role of Darcy, along with Aaron Douglas (Battlestar Gallactica) as Sam, Kim Coates (Silent Hill, Black Hawk Down) as Andris, Christa Campbell (Blonde Ambition, Wicker Man) as Lily, and Emily Perkins (Gingersnaps) as Goth Chick. The film is being directed by Mark Tuit and produced by Pacific Gold, RTG Productions, and HandPicked Films.
Blood; A Butchers Tale, is the harrowing tale of Sam (Douglas), a simple butcher who discovers that the love of his life, Darcy (Sciole), is being seduced by a vampire (Coates). As he investigates further he realizes that his destiny is to become the destroyer of this blood thirsty race. Sam begins a killing spree with the slaughter of his beloved wife, then her blood addicted lover. Sam then makes it his duty to systematically destroy the remainder of the clan, until he hesitates about killing Lily (Campbell), the last of her race. Helplessly he falls in love with Lily and learns to respect her desire to be normal. Eventually Sam must battle with the possibility of repopulating the planet, with the exact race he set out to destroy.
Sciole is signed to star in five features during the next year, including "Flickering Candle" which will be shot in South Africa, Political Engagement filming in San Antonio, Dead Lawyers, Crimson and Beneath Justice. She has a supporting role in the soon to be released "Breaking the F-ing Rules" with John Melendez, Mark Cuban, and Jeffery Ross; and she is featured in the upcoming season premiere of Entourage. Campbell and Coates are heading to Bulgaria right after "Blood" wraps to shoot the Cuba Gooding, Jr and Ray Liotta flick, Hero Wanted. Douglas begins the final season of Battlestar Gallactica this Summer.
Hand Picked Films and RTG Productions jointly control the distribution rights to the project, and plan to begin talks with distributors worldwide next week.
