Scotland Golf Packages will, in the future benefit from another new addition to the quality golf courses in the east of the region. Angus is the area for the country’s newest course, which will be built near to Carnoustie.
The course at The Angus is being created by last year's Open Champion Darren Clarke with the help of specialist designers. The course will form part of the region's first five-star resort and is located in Kingennie and will be a £60m project. Work is expected to begin in spring 2013. In addition to the Darren Clarke course, the resort will feature a five-star hotel and spa, a golf club and golf academy.
Skibo Castle is to open its excellent Carnegie Club Golf Course to visitors for the first time since 2007. The exclusive private club, which belongs to Skibo did take visitors on a very limited basis prior to 2007 but closed its doors in that year for the benefit of the Skibo members. The course which is Championship standard and regularly played by members of Skibo such as Ernie Els, will be a fine addition to those already available in that part the Highlands area such as Royal Dornoch, Nairn and Castle Stuart.
