Alioto's Restaurant

Growing-up with my family in the restaurant business, and having privately run my own business, I have a good grasp of what customers are looking for when they walk through our doors to dine

As San Francisco’s, Alioto's Restaurant, featuring delicious seafood selections, private dinning and banquet rooms, launched its new website in January, it also celebrated great future changes as the fourth generation of Alioto family descendants took the reins of this San Francisco staple that has been open since 1925.

The restaurant business has always been highly competitive in San Francisco, and although it is important to have the best quality food possible, local and fresh, Alioto’s also feels it is necessary to remain close to the local community. From a competitive standpoint, Alioto's is one of the oldest restaurants in San Francisco, perhaps the oldest on Fisherman's Wharf, with close ties to the history of the city. With the launch of its revamped website, Twitter and other areas of social media, Alioto’s will grow with technology and tell an entirely new generation about the restaurant.

“Growing-up with my family in the restaurant business, and having privately run my own business, I have a good grasp of what customers are looking for when they walk through our doors to dine. We want to be that destination you think of first when it comes to good food that is freshly prepared and served, overlooking our breath taking picturesque views,” Matthew Violante, Manager of Alioto’s Restaurant. “That said, I am also very aware about the effects of social media and how it impacts our business. This new website accomplishes our desire to connect with a broader audience without giving up the nostalgia of a business that has an 87-year-old history. “

As a local and tourist destination, Alioto's Restaurant has a strong local base of customers, and it is important for locals to know that with all the choices out there, there is still a special place to dine that has not compromised its food quality or service, while menu items are seasonally updated. The restaurant is still going strong and is increasing its presence on Facebook and Twitter to communicate more effectively with its clients.

"When I started working here 50 years ago, I know that I brought with me a lot of new ideas that I aspired to bring to our existing and new customers. I believe that Matt brings that same enthusiasm and professionalism to the table. We are a family that covets great food and fine wines with unmatched views and service. When you blend your love of these things and make it your lifelong profession, it really makes the customer's experience exceptional,” President Nunzio Alioto of Alioto's Restaurant said. “While Fisherman's Wharf appeals to tourists, we have always had a strong local customer base and people remain surprised that parking isn't an issue with a validated lot directly across the street. I am proud of all that we have had to offer for generations and all of the exciting things to come for Alioto's."
