RexxField.com CEO and founder Michael Roberts has launched a new petition calling for the United States Congress to modify the controversial 1996 law, namely Section 230 CDA, which protects ISPs from liability for libel for defamatory material that is republished by their websites.
Rexxfield's founder and CEO, Michael Roberts, is an Internet defamation & harassment victims advocate. He said "The flawed law is simply untenable in its current form".

Roberts said "I believe that § 230C of the CDA is a copybook example of how the government can really mess things up, there have been countless cases where victims reputations are destroyed by malicious postings through defamatory websites without any verification of the allegations raised therein." He added, "It is tantamount to state-sponsored cyber terrorism for those who are left without relief".
Roberts added "the immunity given to search engines and websites that promote the defamatory content allows the administrators to ignore the anguish of innocent people struggling with battered reputations via internet libel, the immunity conveyed allows them to ignore the social responsibility implied by the wording of the law under the heading 'Protection for Good Samaritan blocking and screening of offensive material'".
Michael Roberts is an Internet Libel Victims' Advocate. He works with targets of fallacious internet complaints by competitors engaging in tortious interference.
